Tatafu Langi started carving wood as a child in the Kingdom of Tonga. After moving to the United States in 1997, he continued his love for the arts and started carving for various craft shows. He immersed himself in learning all he could about the history of the Polynesian Islands and the meanings of the carvings related to Polynesian culture and people. Tatafu has taken his hand drawn designs and incorporated the “Great Polynesian Spirit” into the pieces. The carvings are made from quality materials such as whale teeth, cattle bone, ivory & koa wood. Each item is handmade with expert skill and care. The pieces all have a specific meaning and all come with a guarantee. Tatafu also offers customer ordering and will carve a special piece for customers with their own design in mind. Tatafu continues his quest to educate and share the Polynesian Spirit by showing his necklaces at trade shows and with visitors of HawaiiBoneCarving.com. Tatafu takes pride in providing excellent customer service and has many happy, returning customers.
November 2011 - Due to family obligations, the Langi family is relocating to Florida. Tatafu will continue to share his carving talents with others through this website and various trade shows along the East Coast, beginning in January of 2011.
